Scholarships
Scholarship Application Information
Nisibis Assyrian Theological College offers a range of coursework scholarships to existing, continuing students.
Granting scholarships is conditioned by the availability of funds and student merit.
Members of the assessing panel are the Principal, the Academic Registrar, one representative of the Assyrian Church of the East’s Archdiocese of Australia, New Zealand & Lebanon, and Faculty members of the College.
You can apply after the successful completion of at least one course unit in the previous semester.
Applications must be submitted to admin@nisibis.edu.au (addressed to the Principal) immediately after you received confirmation of enrolment in at least one course unit of the new semester (the application should indicate the name of the course unit).
The outcome of your application will be communicated after the respective semester’s census date.
If you will be awarded a scholarship, the value of the scholarship will be subtracted from your student fee (you will not pay the entire fee for that course unit).
All scholarships amount to AUD 500 for one undergraduate course unit and AUD 700 for one postgraduate course unit.
Students can apply for a limited number of scholarships, corresponding to the course of studies in which they are enrolled, as follows:

The Mar Awa III Scholarship (for non-Australian students, clergy and laity)The Mar Meelis Scholarship (for Australian clergy, school teachers and university/college faculty interested in professional development)The St Ephraim Scholarship (for Australian laity, including church catechists, Bible study leaders and youth group leaders)As the College already has your enrolment details, your application should include a one-page letter of intention (where you explain how this scholarship will enhance your awareness of the faith, your church/school work and/or your career).
The letter should mention the name of the course unit for which the scholarship you apply.
In the case of laypersons, a letter of recommendation from your parish priest.
